Three Central Falls teens arrested for robbery, cyber-bullying
Three Central Falls teens girls were arrested for assaulting two 15-year-olds, as well as harassing them on social media and stealing one of their cell phones.
According to authorities, the victims flagged down an officer on Broad Street around 10 p.m. on Sept. 24, claiming that they had been beaten. Police said they suffered noticeable injuries.
The pair told police they were assaulted and robbed by three sisters who live on Fletcher Street. Their ages are 14, 15, and 17.
Police then directed their investigation to Facebook, where the suspects posted videos and photos accompanied by insults toward the victims to their respective accounts.
Authorities also noted that the mother of the assailants commented on one of the videos, slurring one of the victims.
The trio was arrested at their home on Monday and arraigned Tuesday morning at Family Court in Providence. They were charged with second degree robbery, conspiracy to commit robbery, two counts of cyber-harassment, two counts of simple assault, and disorderly conduct.
The 17 and 15-year-old defendants were ordered held at the Rhode Island Training School until a future court hearing, while the 14-year-old was released on home confinement with electronic monitoring.
